The Tree Ring // HIKE-IN Show

This video is golden. Can I just say that anything Destin Cretton and team directs is pretty much awesome because I am in awe when I watch this video. I don't know what the title of this song is but maybe this means The Tree Ring is conjuring up a new album. (Update: Joel P West announced that he is starting to write for a new album, it's like he knew what I wanted)
A hike-in show in the woods? With a dog? And sunshine? And friends? I am struck by wanderlust
Did I mention he also directed this spectacular video?

Branches : Thou Art The Dream

Now I haven't heard their album yet but I'm definitely going to get it when it appears on iTunes. (They recently played their album release show this past week in LA [where the band came to be].) I found out about Branches through watching Invisible Children's Livestream last semester. The thing I really like about this video and idea behind this album called Thou Art The Dream is community. Wait til the end of the video when you hear their voices, it will wow your ears.

Kopecky Family Band // Angry Eyes (Live On KEXP)

It starts off slow but it has dashes of whimsy tambourines and a pick-up beat to it. I like that there's both a female voice and male voice that is so distinct but very complimenting of each other. This is Kopecky Family Band, watch their full performance with KEXP here. For some reason I think of birds when I listen to them.

Bon Iver // Love More (Sharon Van Etten cover)

This is that one song that is just so heartbreakingly beautiful so you play it on repeat on a rainy day, a sunny day...everyday really. The original song by Sharon Van Etten (her new album just came out so snag it if you dig this!) is just as great and the rendition done by Yellow Ostrich is unique.
Listen to all of them and if you dig this, snag a copy of Sharon Van Etten's album that just came out on Tuesday.

Deep Sea Diver // You Go Running

A project by Jessica Dobson (of The Shins), Peter Mansen, and John Raines, their debut album, History Speaks will be released on Feb 24, 2012. Follow their progess by clicking here. This song sounds exactly like the album art, or is it just me?

Music Documentary // Big Easy Express (Trailer)

This makes me wish I was apart of a band. "Big Easy Express" is a musical documentary that followed three bands (Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, and Old Crow Medicine Show) as they traveled from San Francisco to New Orleans via train. The tour was dubbed the "Railroad Revival Tour" and I'm so thankful I got to be apart of the crowd at least. What a wonderful experience as a concert goer, I can not imagine what it must have been like on the train. Big bands, big crowds, and big sounds.
It will be premiering at SXSW 2012. (Hope this comes for public viewing!)

The Shins : Simple Song (Studio Footage)

This is some studio footage from the much anticipated album, Port Of Morrow, due March 20, 2012. Lined up for Coachella and a handful of shows, it looks like The Shins are back in action.
