Kimbra // Cameo Lover

Kimbra - Cameo Lover (Official Music Video) from Kimbra on Vimeo.

I can not wait for Kimbra's full album to come out. I saw this video once without really thinking about it but I kept coming back. Watch it and you'll see why. It's got this beat that is very catchy but then there's this retro-esque of a pre-chorus and then there's a modern twist, oh my! It's the tambourines.

"Baby, love is all that you need."

The Head and the Heart : The Head and the Heart

I am a sucker for harmonies and strings. The Head and the Heart combines both. And as I play them walking to school, I can't help but daydream of being in one of their music videos. You know you've done it before. It's one of those music videos where you're dreamily walking down a sidewalk or trail and there are beautiful, enormous green trees and then the frame switches to the band playing in a field of flowers or something like that. That kind of daydreaming.
They started in 2009, released their self-titled album in Summer of 2010. They recently played in the Austin's SXSW festival, were announced as a "Band Crush" on Nylon, debuted on Conan, and now they are on tour. Do I see things happening for this band? You tell me. The facts are all there. My personal favorite song is "Down in the Valley". It's folksy, acoustic, and harmonically-pleasing.

Cover// Cosmic Love - F+TM

I never would have thought that there would be a cover that I would like just as much as the original, especially a song that is dear to me. You know when you have one of those songs that you think no one can out-do.
Especially one that is done completely acapella. The 'beat-boxing' around 1:08-1:09 gave me chills and that was where I knew that I loved this video. Like the original, I could play this over and over and over again.

Tune in Tuesday : 2nd Edition

This week I wanted to dedicate and make a Mix for who I am honored to call my friend, Lindy. I met her when she was traveling the South as an Invisible Children Texas Roadie.
She's a roadie so obviously she's crazy. No, I kid- she's just a good crazy.  She's got a heart of gold though because even when we lives miles away, she still takes the time to talk to me. Having conversations with her only makes me wish that she could be a walk away instead of a flight away.
This mix is just a compilation of what I've been listening to and what makes me think of her.

Playlist 'Lindy':
Song For H. Korth by The Tree Ring
Skin, Is My by Andrew Bird
I Promise by Generationals
The Great Estates by Freelance Whales
Down in the Valley by The Head and The Heart
