In light of being announced as a confirmed band in the Austin City Limits 10th Anniversary lineup, I think that the Smith Westerns are an appropriate topic this week. I discovered them when I went on my last.fm recommendations. I usually get to lazy to follow through on looking at the band suggestions but I had time one weekend and Smith Westerns was on the list. The song 'Dye the World', the tone of it just feels like it would be played at an 80's prom, or an 80's inspired prom. Either way, if they played at my prom, I would gladly "dance the night away".
I think this young Chicago boy band has got my heart and a spot in my ACL line up.
